Projects, Supporting Studies

Since 2021, the research groups at General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania have been implementing the research programme “Security and Defence of Small States” supporting the studies and combining the following five unique projects.


Changing Security Environment in the Transatlantic Area and Security Policy of the Small Central and Eastern European States
The main aim of the project – to examine the security challenges of small and medium-sized states in the Central and Eastern European region, as well as wider transatlantic area, in order to identify how they respond to these challenges regarding their national security policy.

The main aim of the project – to evaluate the problems of interaction between security and defense institutions as well as changes in legal regulations, relevant to the governance of Lithuania and other small states.

The main aim of the project – to explore institutional, feminist, and communicative challenges to global and national governance.

Research on the Small State Logistics and Defence Technology Management
The main aim of the project – to study various technological and managerial measures that contribute to the security and defense of small states, and to formulate solutions based on the obtained research data, which would allow to increase the security and defense efficiency of the country.
