On 20 September, The General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania opened the International Cadet Week involving cadets and officers from Latvian, Estonian, German, Danish, Ukrainian and Georgian military academies.
During the meeting with the authorities of the Academy, foreign cadets and officers were introduced to the activities and studies, visited laser shooting range and exhibition of arms; cadets did psychophysical exercises. Also, the guests will be invited to visit the airbase in Šiauliai, Centre for Civil Education and Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania in Vilnius and go on a sightseeing tour to Trakai. On 23 September, foreign visitors will attend the first-year cadets’ oath ceremony hosted by the Academy.
The Military Academy of Lithuania organizes meetings with the representatives of foreign countries to foster international cooperation, share valuable experience on different military training programmes and hold discussion on the topics relevant to cadets and officers.
