French cadets receive English certificates

On 7 February 2020, Lt Col Rolandas Greibus, Chief of Staff of General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania (MAL) and Maj Dominique Veit, French Defence Attaché Assistant awarded English certificates to 6 French cadets from Saint-Cyr Military Academy. The cadets studied English at the MAL Foreign Language Centre in January and February 2020.
The certificate award ceremony was attended by Lt Col Christophe Nave, Deputy Director of NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence, representatives of the French Embassy in Lithuania, Jurgita Kuzaitė, Director of the MAL Foreign Language Centre and English lecturers.
Lt Col Greibus congratulated the cadets and wished them to efficiently use the acquired knowledge.
Lt Col Nave expressed his gratitude to the MAL for hospitality and assured that the cooperation between the French and Lithuanian military academies would not cease and become even closer allowing more French cadets to take the English course and enabling Lithuanian cadets to acquire knowledge and experience in France.
The military academies of Saint-Cyr and Lithuania have been cooperating since 2012 in the framework of the European Initiative for the Exchange of Military Young Officers. Every January and February French cadets along with other foreigners learn English at the MAL, while one Lithuanian cadet undertakes one-semester studies at Saint-Cyr Military Academy.
