End of the Air Force Command and Staff Course

On December 13, General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania hosted the certificate award ceremony of the Air Force Command and Staff Course (AFCSC). 19 course participants, including 9 Lithuanian, 6 Latvian and 4 Estonian air force officers received certificates proving their eligibility for commanding positions at air force and other headquarters.
 
The certificates and badges were presented by Acting Commandant Colonel Darius VAICIKAUSKAS and Course Director Lieutenant Colonel Marius MATULAITIS. The ceremony was honoured by the presence of Lieutenant Colonel Rolandas GREIBUS, representative of the Lithuanian Air Force.
 
This year, the best participant award went to Captain Bert PODER from the Estonian Air Force for the best academic achievements and teamwork.
 
The international 17-week course has been run since 2004. Throughout the period, 280 course participants, including 136 Lithuanians, 78 Latvians and 66 Estonians completed the course. The AFCSC focuses on the Baltic States’ air force staff officers’ analytical and planning skills for military operations at the component level.
