Georgian National Defence Academy gives special attention to the lecturers of the Lithuanian Military Academy

From 23 October to 3 November, the Head and Lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dileta JATAUTAITĖ and Dr. Miroslavas STASILO, respectively, paid a visit to the David Aghmashenebeli National Defence Academy of Georgia (NDA). They conducted English classes for Junkers (Georgian cadets) in the framework of lecturer exchange programme.
 
The lecturers were introduced to the study programmes, language testing, teaching and testing features and assessment systems applied at the Department of Foreign Languages, NDA. The specialists also shared their good experience.
 
The visit and classes received great interest from Bachelor Junkers and the course participants attending the Language School in Tbilisi. They asked many questions about Lithuania and study programmes run by the Department of Foreign Languages, Military Academy of Lithuania (MAL).
 
Col Zaza JAPARIDZE, Rector of the NDA, and Prof. Nana SHAVTVALADZE, Director of the Language School, expressed their appreciation to the Lithuanian lecturers for demonstration lessons, development of programmes, language testing according to STANAG 6001, presentation of textbooks published by the MAL and methodological seminars.
 
The guests were accompanied by Lt Col Vytautas RAKAUSKAS, Lithuanian Defence Attaché to Georgia, Republic of Armenia and Republic of Azerbaijan, who also visited the NDA.
 
Strengthening cooperation between the NDA and MAL
 
The cooperation with the NDA started in 2014 by signing a cooperation agreement providing for the development of academic and military training programmes and study quality assurance procedures and mechanisms. The parties also agreed to foster student (cadet and Junker) and lecturer exchange in the framework of Erasmus+ programme and other joint activities and cooperate on English and other foreign language teaching.
 
By strengthening academic cooperation with foreign institutions of higher education, the MAL prioritizes international cooperation and enhances the quality of studies and research.
