Commander of the National Army of the Republic of Moldova

On 9 June, The General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania welcomed Brigadier General Igor Cutie, Commander of the National Army, Chief of the National Army General Staff of the Republic of Moldova, with the delegation. The guests met the authorities of the Military Academy of Lithuania and discussed bilateral cooperation development possibilities.
Brigadier General Algis Vaičeliūnas, Commandant of the Military Academy of Lithuania, presented the Academy, cadet and officer studies and international courses involving Moldovan and other foreign officers.
Moldovan officers have been expanding their knowledge of international security and politics and attending Command and Junior Staff Officer Course, Vytautas the Great Army Command and Staff Course and International English Language Course since 2004. A total of 61 Moldovan officers have already completed the courses run by the Military Academy of Lithuania.
Brigadier General Igor Cutie and the delegation paid the first official visit to Lithuania by the invitation of Lieutenant General Jonas Vytautas Žukas, Chief of Defence of the Lithuanian Armed Forces. On 7–9 June, the guests met the Lithuanian Chief of Defence and the representatives of the Joint Headquarters and the Department of Strategic Communication of the Lithuanian Armed Forces. The Moldovan delegation also visited Division General Stasys Raštikis Lithuanian Armed Forces School in Kaunas and Mechanized Infantry Brigade Iron Wolf in Rukla.
