Cooperation

The General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania cooperates actively with a number of public institutions and non-governmental organizations and fosters close relations with foreign military training establishments.

We share our insights and experiences through a variety of events, such as exhibitions, meetings with prominent people, presentations of books, films, etc. The Academy also holds open days and organises excursions for schoolchildren and students.

Exchange programmes offer opportunities for our cadets and officers to take part in international weeks abroad and for foreign cadets – to visit the Military Academy of Lithuania, and our international English language and career courses are open for both representatives of the Lithuanian Armed Forces and foreign officers.

Lithuanian institutions of higher education
The General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania belongs to the Lithuanian University Rectors’ Conference (LURK), which coordinates inter-university relations as well as relations with government and municipal institutions on issues of studies, research, etc.

Our academy cooperates with almost all Lithuanian institutions of higher education in the field of studies and research, lectures and teacher exchange, scientific and methodological conferences.

One of the most important partners is Vilnius Gediminas Technical University – together we train aviation specialists for the Lithuanian Air Force, meanwhile naval officers are trained in cooperation with the Lithuanian Maritime Academy and the Lithuanian Navy.

Joint doctoral studies in the field of political sciences are organised together with other key partners – Vytautas Magnus University, Kaunas University of Technology, and Klaipėda University.
Educational institutions and organisations
The General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania follows a long-standing tradition to meet pupils at Lithuanian secondary schools and gymnasiums in order to provide them with information on the procedure of admission and studies at the Military Academy of Lithuania, officers’ service, and military life.

Our cadets render assistance to the Lithuanian Riflemen's Union and young riflemen, who often choose studies at the Military Academy of Lithuania seeking to pursue professional career in the Lithuanian Military Forces.
Foreign military academies
Academic cooperation with foreign military academies is promoted in the fields of science and studies and includes collaborative international scientific researches, teacher and student exchange programmes, scientific conferences, joint scientific publications, etc.

With a view to getting information on the officer training programmes in other countries and sharing experience on relevant issues, every year the Military Academy of Lithuania organises a Cadets’ Week and takes part in the annual Baltic Sea Military Academies Conference.

Participation in the Erasmus+ study exchange programme helps to improve the teaching and educational process and to ensure the quality of studies at our academy. More >>>
