 On February 6 French Ambassador to Lithuania Maryse Bernau and the delegation paid a visit to the General Jonas Þemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania. The guests met the Command of the Academy and Saint-Cyr Military Academy cadets who currently study English at the Military Academy of Lithuania.
The ambassador was pleased about the bilateral cooperation on security and defence while developing military training. According to the bilateral study exchange agreement that is currently being prepared, cadet exchange within the framework of military Erasmus will be proceeded between the Lithuanian and French academies. It is planned to send one cadet from the Military Academy of Lithuania to study one semester at Saint-Cyr Military Academy this autumn.
Ambassador Bernau emphasised that it is especially important that now the Lithuanian cadets can take up French language courses that are finally run at the Academy. It will encourage efficient cooperation between the academies in the future.
Military Academy of Lithuania Commandant Col Gintaras Bagdonas was glad about the development of cooperation and expressed his warmest thanks to French Defence Attaché to Lithuania Lt Col Jean-Luc Lopez for activity and help in looking for ways of the most efficient cooperation.
