The Institute of University Studies aims at:

• Organizing university studies for the cadets and servicemen of the National Defence System of the Republic of Lithuania, public servants and employees working under the contracts of employment, foreign servicemen and officials of other public institutions that entered into the cooperation agreements with the Ministry of National Defence;
• Coordinating and controlling the process of studies and courses;
• Planning the activities of the institute in coordination with the Military Academy of Lithuania and other subunits of the National Defence System.

The objectives of the Institute of University Studies include planning, carrying out, coordinating, and controlling university studies and performing scientific researches.
