The Locations of Fighting for Freedom in Lithuania, whose author is Dr., Assoc. Prof. Romas Batūra, is a new publication of the Military Academy. The book is dedicated to commemorate the anniversaries of 600-year of Žalgiris and 750-year of Durbė battles. The campaigns were of utmost importance for the Balts and Lithuanians who had been fighting for their freedom for 250 years. Those battles have a worldwide significance in the whole history of warfare. Enormous numbers of victims and losses were the price to pay to maintain Lithuanian ethnos and state. During the fights, Lithuania managed to ward off the most aggressive forces of the world at that time and ensure the right of the nation to live independently on its own territory.
