2010 June 20-23, professors of The National Defence University of Poland Col. Dr. Hab. Eugeniusz Cieslak and Maj. Maciej Slawinski paid a visit to The General Jonas Zemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania. This was arranged following The Erasmus Exchange Programme and The Bilateral Agreement of Cooperation signed in 2009. The Polish professors delivered lectures to 1st - 3rd year cadets in The Department of Humanities on the topic of “Air Force Management in Crisis Control”. The Military Academy cadets of Aviation, HR Management and Political Science were introduced to the organisation of Polish Air Force, its control and activity coordination in tackling international terrorism threats and the management of the air force in crisis and natural disaster situations. The cadets enjoyed the lectures where they listened attentively to the presentations, gave questions to the lecturers and participated in discussions with them. During the visit the Polish professors also met Col. Gintaras Bagdonas, the Commandant of the Military Academy, and discussed ways of further cooperation. Col. Dr. Hab. Eugeniusz Cieslak and Maj. Maciej Slawinski also met Vice Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Valdas Rakutis and Lt. Col. Eltonas Meleckis, Chief of Air Force Command and Staff Course. The visiting professors were also presented with the Military Academy, namely, its library, museum, Laser Shooting Range and other divisions. This was the first visit of the Polish officers in Lithuania, therefore they were keenly interested in the history of Lithuania and visited Trakai and Vilnius Old Town.
