Command and Junior Staff Officer Course (Land) (CJSOC (L)) primarily aims at providing students with knowledge and skills allowing them to continue their service in the positions of the Mechanised and Motorised Infantry Company Commander (Land) and the Battalion Staff Officer (Land).

Since 31 August 2009 the former CJSOC (L) that lasted for 5 months were subdivided into two separate courses: Company Commander Course that lasts for 2 months and Junior Staff Officer Course that lasts for 3 months. Company Commander Course is held in Lithuanian language and is designed for officers of Lithuanian Armed Forces. The aim of this course is to prepare officers able to take the position of the Company (Battery) Commander in the divisions of the Lithuanian Armed Forces. Junior Staff Officer Course is held in English language and is designed for officers of both Lithuanian and foreign Armed Forces. The aim of the course is to prepare officers capable to undertake the position of a junior staff officer in the Battalion Staff of the Armed Forces.

Since 31 August 2009 the courses are organised three times a year. Company Commander Course is designed for the audience of maximum 20 students while Junior Staff Officer Course holds up to 48 students.

During the courses students study military subjects, international relationship, military history and political sciences. Lectures are held by instructors and lectors from CJSOC and Military Academy divisions. Students are taught to manage the modern warfare simulation system “JCATS”. Main effort of these courses is put on tactical operations planning at battalion level. During practical exercises students are planning military operations using NATO decision making process procedures and JCATS simulation system.

Our foreigner students have excellent opportunities to visit most famous places of Lithuania during cultural excursions.

Upon successful completion of studies at CJSOC (L) the officers are granted certificates and a CJSOC (L) badge.
