The Academy Board is an advisory body for the commandant of the Academy. It expeditiously resolves the internal matters of the Academy: analyses discipline and results of training and education, discusses and approves training programmes for field training, tours of duty and the Academy’s development programme.
The work of the Board is planned for a period of an academic year. The extraordinary Board meetings are called by the decision of the commandant of the Academy.
Functions of the Academy Board:
Discusses and approves military curriculum and thematic unit plans;
Discusses cadets and course participants’ advance;
Discusses cadets and course participants’ training and discipline matters;
Discusses plans and programmes for field training and tours of duty;
Discusses military textbooks and practice books for publishing;
Discusses the matters of the Academy’s development and improvement of training base;
Discusses responses to the graduates’ service in the military units;
Holds the meetings for the officers to report on their activities or discuss important matters; officers are introduced to the agenda no later than a week before the meeting;
Reaches decisions by a simple majority (not less than 50% of the Board members) during the meetings;
The decisions of the Board are implemented by the order of the commandant of the Academy.
The Academy Board comprise these persons: commandant of the Academy (president of the Board), chief of staff, chiefs of groups, course directors, director of Institute of Foreign Languages, heads of departments of university studies, chief of Division of Studies, chief accountant, chief budget specialist, commander of Cadet Battalion, chief of Officer Selection Centre, delegate of the Ministry of National Defence, delegate of Chief of Defence of the Republic of Lithuania.
