The Headquarters of the Military Academy of Lithuania (MAL) is responsible for assisting the Commandant and divisions of the MAL in implementing the assigned functions and tasks regulated by laws and other legal acts; providing necessary assistance and consultations to the divisions of the MAL in accordance with the competence acquired; performing candidates’ selection to the MAL; planning the activities of the MAL coordinating them with other divisions. 

The main goals of the Headquarters are as follows:

• to assist the Commandant and divisions of the MAL in implementing the assigned functions and tasks regulated by laws and other legal acts;
• to perform the candidates’ selection to the MAL;
• to plan the activities of the MAL coordinating them with other divisions;
• to provide necessary assistance and consultations to the divisions of the MAL in accordance with the competence acquired.
