On 17 February 2009 the General Jonas Zemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania (MAL) was visited by foreign defence attachés accredited to Lithuania. At present the total number of them is 29 in Lithuania.
It was the third time that during the competition organised by the students of the Vilnius University the best state institution and NGO public relations projects were nominated. 24 projects were submitted to the competition “Experience 2008” by the following parties: LR Ministry of Science and Education, Lithuanian Armed Forces Air Force, Nordic Council of Ministers Office in Lithuania, Directorate of Trakai Historical National Park, etc.
On 13 January 2009, the Lithuanian Freedom Fighters Day, the solemn meeting to honour the Lithuanian Freedom Fighters took place at the General Jonas Zemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania (MAL). The MAL community and guests were greeted by the MAL Commandant Brig Gen Edvardas Mazeikis. Lithuanian Armed Forces General Inspector Brig Gen Gintautas Zenkevicius shared his memories about the fatal events that took place in January 1991, eighteen years ago, when armless Lithuanian people defended their desire to restore the Lithuanian Independence.
On 9 January 2009 the 6th and last Class of 9 officers-students of the full-time, daytime Master studies in Personnel Management (Management and Business Administration) was granted Master Diplomas at the Military Academy of Lithuania (MAL). From now on only part-time, extramural Master studies shall be organised at the MAL.
