Dancing couples have been orbiting at the Cadets’ Club of the Militayr Academy of Lithuania (MAL) for more than ten years. Yearly the 2nd-year MAL cadets master their skills in dancing, which is an elective (Dance Sport). Their partners are students of intitutions of higher education of Vilnius. Following the programme approved by the Lithuanian Dance Sport Federation, the cadets practice dancing the following classical dances: Vienna Waltz, Slow Tango, Tamgo, Quickstep, Latin American Dances: the main moves of Cha-Cha-Cha, Rumba, Jive, and Sambo. Upon completion of this course cadets participate at the final dancing party, during which their dancing is examined and the best dancers are selected. The winners are invited to join the MAL Dance Sport Club.
The dancers of the MAL Dance Sport Club perform during the representational events held by the LR Ministry of National Defence, national sport dance festivals and contests; also, during concerts and presentations of the Military Academy of Lithuania.
