During the Commission Board meeting held on 25 July 2008 the list of successful entrants to the MAL was made public: 55 out of 552 applicants were invited to study at the MAL, 6 of them representing female candidates. They will study to become first-rank lieutenants of the Lithuanian Land Forces; 5 cadets of them, including 1 female cadet, will study to become aviation officers.
On 24 July 2008 the Georgian Armed Forces Commander Brig Gen Zaza Gogava and his delegation, including Col Iraki Batkuashvili, Chief of J5 Division, Col Nodar Kvilitaia, Chief of J7 Division, Col Tariel Londaridze, Commandant of the Georgian Military Academy, Maj Lela Chikovani, Military Attaché to Lithuania, and Lasha Shalamberidze, Chief of the Planning Division of the Protocol and Diplomatic Relations Department. The guests were attended by the Lithuanian Armed Forces Commander Lt Gen Valdas Tutkus and the Lithuanian Defence Attaché to Georgia and Armenia Lt Col Albertas Charzevskis.
