The day of 17 May 2008 was special for the community of the General Jonas Zemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania. From the early morning cadets were getting ready to represent the Military Academy at the first Regatta on the River Neris.The Regatta on the River Neris is a massive sports event, aimed at the academic society and the youth of Lithuania, which received truly great acclaim in terms of both spectators and participants. The total of 12 Lithuanian institutions of higher education got registered in various river vehicle categories, amounting to more than 300 participants.
