On 14 March 2008 the 99th birth anniversary of General Jonas Zemaitis was celebrated in the Jonas Zemaitis Primary School in Simkaiciai, the Jurbarkas Region. During the solemn meeting the Cooperation Agreement was concluded between the General Jonas Zemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania, represented by the MAL Commandant Col Arunas Balciunas, on the one hand, and the Jonas Zemaitis Primary School in Simkaiciai, represented by the School Director Leonardas Zaksas, on the other hand. Both interested parties agreed to develop cooperation in the fields of national, civilian, and patriotic development.
