Courses

Besides Military training the General Jonas Zemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania offers variety of courses designed for NDS officers and civil workers and international courses designed for officers of Lithuanian and foreign Armed Forces. By means of applying the newest technologies in teaching methodology and aiming for flexibility, the Military Academy of Lithuania arranges some of qualification courses as courses of Distance Learning. Distance Learning enables to use study funds more effectively, gives the students possibility to study and communicate with lecturers while at work, at home or in the Mission outside Lithuania. The Military Academy of Lithuania leaves the possibility for all divisions of the National Defence to design courses of distance learning.

Officers Specialists’ Basic Training Course

Duration of the course - 6 weeks. Basic military training course is designed to train specialists,  who are admitted to military service and have university education, necessary for the Armed Forces, the ones who have not completed compulsory basic military service or by any other means lack military training. 

Reserve Platoon Commander Course
The courses that last for 22 weeks are designed for officers of National Defence Volunteer Forces (NDVF). Under successful completion of the courses the officers are to have enough theoretical knowledge and practical skills to undertake the position of reserve platoon commander.

CIS Officer Basic Course
Duration of the courses -10 weeks.  Distance learning course of this type is organised for officers National Defence Volunteer Forces (NDVF) as well. The duration of the course is 23 weeks.  The course aims to train officers able to fulfil their duties in the Armed Forces whether peace or war, organise combat training for subordinate officers, and apply NATO procedures at the staff work according to cooperation objectives defined in advance as equal partners to participate in international operations.

Logistics Officer Basic Course
Duration of the courses - 8 weeks. Distance learning course of this type is organised as well.  The duration of the course is 18 weeks. The aim of the course is to prepare officers- commanders of logistics platoons, deputy company commanders, able to command the divisions of logistics, assuring logistical maintenance of the divisions at all times, whether peace or war, and junior logistics officers, able to undertake the positions of logistics officers in the structures of military  forces.

Basic Military Training Course for Civil Workers
The courses are designed for civil workers of National Defence System and other national institutions. The courses aim to provide participants with basic understanding about the structure of the armed forces, armament, tactics, signal system, staff responsibilities, war topography and International Humanitarian Law (Law of War).
