Besides Military training the General Jonas Zemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania offers variety of courses designed for NDS officers and civil workers and international courses designed for officers of Lithuanian and foreign Armed Forces. By means of applying the newest technologies in teaching methodology and aiming for flexibility, the Military Academy of Lithuania arranges some of qualification courses as courses of Distance Learning. Distance Learning enables to use study funds more effectively, gives the students possibility to study and communicate with lecturers while at work, at home or in the Mission outside Lithuania. The Military Academy of Lithuania leaves the possibility for all divisions of the National Defence to design courses of distance learning.
The Reserve Platoon Commander Course is a distance learning course of 23 weeks, including 3 weeks of practical exercise. The course is designed for the servicemen of the National Defence Volunteer Forces who already have Section Commander Qualification and aim to develop professionally by acquiring Platoon Commander Qualification. Upon the completion of the course programme, the course participants gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for the position of reserve platoon commander.
Course on Basics of Warfare for Public Servants
The course provides general knowledge on the structure of the Lithuanian Armed Forces. The course programme is comprised of theoretical studies in a distance learning mode (Stage 1) and a week-long seminar at the Military Academy of Lithuania followed by week-long visits to the military units (Stage 2). The key aim of the course is to expand professional knowledge of the public servants and enhance mutual understanding between the servicemen and public servants of the National Defence System.
