The Department of Political Science has been running the programme since the academic year 2006-2007. The core of the Master’s degree programme is comprised of two equivalent study objects – diplomacy and military studies that are united and make up one complex. The dual nature of the programme distinguishes it from other programmes of international relations and diplomacy in Lithuania.
Furthermore, the programme includes the required minimum of the disciplines of military diplomacy and other programmes of international relations. The length of the part-time studies is 2 years during which the students collect 60 credits. While implementing the programme, the department cooperates closely with the Baltic Defence College and thus ensures the possibilities for the postgraduates to combine the extramural Master’s studies and the courses at the college. The first class of the Masters in Political Science graduated in 2008.
