The studies of Political Science could not be successful and comprehensive without the scientific research. 

The staff of the Department of Political Science relates their scientific activities to the scientific programmes of the Military Academy of Lithuania and the Centre of Strategic Research established by the Institute of International Relations and Political Science of Vilnius University. The staff is mainly interested in the scientific researches related to the national, international and regional security and the analysis of relations between the military and the society.  
Currently all the researchers of the department are involved in the researches of the Lithuanian foreign and security policies and the Lithuanian Armed Forces and organize national and international scientific conferences and actively participate in them.
